Seppi Bros. Concrete — now in its 79th year —

Has poured concrete during the construction of every mining operation on the Range. But the business also serves many other sectors, including: Commercial (stores and buildings), state and county (roadways and bridges), infrastructure (sidewalks, curbs and gutters), and residential (driveways and paving stones).

The business launched in 1943, by Matt Seppi Sr.’s father, T.M. (Toivo) Seppi, along with I.E. Seppi. It began by manufacturing concrete blocks — “one block at time” — using a single wood mold, he said.

The two Seppis were joined by their two brothers, one who worked in the block plant and the other who was a mechanic. “That’s how they got the ‘Seppi Brothers.’”The company transformed through the years, adding ready mix, sand and gravel in the early 1950s.
